O candidato Abilio Brunini (PL) venceu a disputa para a prefeitura da Cuiabá, com 53,78% dos votos válidos. Ele disputou o segundo turno com Lúdio (PT) que até o momento teve 46,22% dos votos válidos. Até agora foram apurados 95% das urnas.

Abilio Brunini é arquiteto e tem 40 anos. Deputado Federal pelo Mato Grosso, já foi vereador por Cuiabá. Disputou a prefeitura da capital em 2020, mas ficou em segundo lugar. Em 2023, durante sessão da CPMI dos Atos Golpistas, foi acusado de fazer gesto associado a movimentos neonazistas. Ele negou a ação, mas acabou sendo expulso da CPMI por interromper a fala de outros deputados. Antes do PL, foi filiado ao PSC e ao PODE.
