SC: Copercampos discute alternativas para substituir o milho

Estado é o maior importador do grão no Brasil

Em Santa Catarina, maior estado importador de milho do país, o dia foi de discussões sobre abastecimento e alternativas ao grão, durante a Copercampos. O assunto foi tema do Fórum Mais Milho. Hoje o estado produz apenas metade do milho necessário para abastecer sua demanda. Com uma cadeia produtiva de carnes fortalecida, principalmente suínos e aves, o estado precisa, por ano, de sete milhões de toneladas de milho para a ração dos animais.
